The export covers the whole account rather than the scope you are currently viewing. Business records come out alongside personal ones.
Steps
Open Settings, then Backups
A backup can live in two places there: iCloud, and a file you keep yourself.
Under A backup file, tap Save a file
One file with the whole account in it: accounts and balances, recurring income and expenses, subscriptions, paydays and their rows, goals, debts and net-worth snapshots.
Choose where it goes
Pick a folder in Files and it is saved there. Nothing is emailed and nothing is left on a server for collection.
Restoring from a backup
Restore sits beside Save a file on the same screen, and it reads a file the app wrote. That is the round trip: a backup you saved can be put back.
It is a restore rather than a merge. The balances in the file were true on the day it was written, so after restoring an older one, confirm your balances before trusting a figure.
What to use it for
Keeping your own copy, moving between accounts, and having something to hand back if anything goes wrong. Take one before deleting your account, because after that we cannot retrieve it for you.
