Cookie Policy

What cashrou.com sets in your browser, and why the app behind the sign-in sets nothing at all.

01

The short version

The marketing website at cashrou.com sets cookies to count visits. The Cashrou web app sets no analytics and no advertising cookies at all: only what is needed to keep you signed in. Blocking website cookies does not affect your ability to use Cashrou. Cookies are a browser thing, so none of this describes the iPhone and iPad app; what that reports is in the Privacy Policy.

02

What a cookie is here

A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to function, such as remembering that you are signed in. Others are used to count visitors and see which pages get read.

03

Cookies on cashrou.com

The website uses Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies in your browser and tells us things like which page you arrived on and roughly where in the world you are.

It is about the website, not about you: it has no way to see anything inside Cashrou, because the app is a different site behind a sign-in.

04

Cookies in the Cashrou app

The app at app.cashrou.com sets only what is required to keep your session open, so you are not signed out between visits. On the web there is no advertising measurement, no third-party analytics and no session recording. The iPhone and iPad app is a different case and carries advertising measurement from TikTok and Meta, which sets no cookies but is set out in full in the Privacy Policy. We do record which steps of the initial setup you reach, so we can see where people get stuck; those events carry a step name and a count and never a figure, so nothing you enter into Cashrou, no balance, bill or goal, is measured or sent anywhere for measurement.

05

The browser extension

The optional Cashrou browser extension does not read your cookies. It copies the session you already have in the web app and keeps it in your browser extension storage so a capture reaches your own account. Signing out of the web app ends that access, and removing the extension deletes the stored session with it.

06

Turning them off

Browsers offer a Do Not Track setting and most ad blockers stop website measurement entirely. Neither affects your ability to use Cashrou. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though blocking the session cookie will sign you out of the web app.

07

Changes

This page is updated when what the website or the app sets changes. The date at the top is when it last changed.
