Cookie Policy

The marketing website at cashrou.com sets cookies to count visits. Our other site, app.cashrou.com, where a subscription is bought and managed, sets no cookies of its own: it keeps you signed in with your browser's own storage instead, and its card form is Stripe's, which sets Stripe's own cookies to prevent fraud. Blocking website cookies does not affect your ability to use Cashrou. Cookies are a browser thing, so none of this describes the iPhone and iPad app; what that reports is in the Privacy Policy.

A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to function, such as remembering that you are signed in. Others are used to count visitors and see which pages get read.

The website uses Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies in your browser and tells us things like which page you arrived on and roughly where in the world you are.

It is about the website, not about you: it has no way to see anything inside Cashrou, because Cashrou is an app on your iPhone and iPad rather than a page on this website.

The site at app.cashrou.com is a page that points you to the App Store, and the pages where you can buy a subscription by card and manage it. It sets no cookies of its own. Signing in there keeps your session in your browser's storage for that site, together with whether you asked to stay signed in and whether your subscription is active, so you are not signed out between visits. The card form is Stripe's, shown inside the page, and Stripe sets its own cookies from it to prevent fraud, under Stripe's privacy policy. On app.cashrou.com there is no advertising measurement, no third-party analytics and no session recording. The iPhone and iPad app is a different case and carries advertising measurement from TikTok and Meta, which sets no cookies but is set out in full in the Privacy Policy. We do record which steps of the initial setup you reach, so we can see where people get stuck, and how long each visit to the app lasts, in seconds; those events carry a step name, a count or a number of seconds and never a figure, so nothing you enter into Cashrou, no balance, bill or goal, is measured or sent anywhere for measurement. We also record which screens you open, each as a number, and a few actions such as adding an account, including the screens you see before signing in, which are linked to your account once you sign in.

The optional Cashrou browser extension does not read your cookies. It copies the session you have when you sign in on our website, at app.cashrou.com/billing, and keeps it in your browser extension storage so a capture reaches your own account. Signing out there ends that access, and removing the extension deletes the stored session with it.

Browsers offer a Do Not Track setting and most ad blockers stop website measurement entirely. Neither affects your ability to use Cashrou. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings. A sign-in at app.cashrou.com is kept in your browser's storage rather than in a cookie, so blocking cookies does not sign you out there, and clearing that site's data does.
